The first times

Not talking about the first times in relationships or in life such as the first time your baby said "mama". When you're a freelancer, you get to have a lot of first times, especially when you have just began exploring the magical world of how to sell your talents. Sometimes you do tend to overlook these first times. Like the first time I created a company profile on LinkedIn for a client or the first time I sold a cover letter. Today was one such first time. It felt great to be appreciated for the job. It felt greater that the client actually thought I was good at it. And you know what, it actually boils down to all the dedication and passion that you put in the task. It's not just about knowing how to do it, it's about trying hard to get it to look the way you want it to be.

So the message is quite clear: when you're a freelancer, you gotta experiment. Your skills do not just limit to knowing how to do a few things, diversify in order for you to know your specialty. It might sound ambiguous, but it really is the most surefire way of paving your way.
